OASES is currently working with partners to develop the following programmes:
LOST LANDSCAPES AND LEARNING
A Heritage Lottery Bid to enable young people to understand the unique heritage that has shaped their local landscape. Pupils will learn plant identification skills, map work and consultation techniques. If successful the schools will be given funding to create a wildflower meadow in their grounds.
HERITAGE SKILLS IN SCHOOLS
Following the successful 'Learning from the Land' project OASES is currently recruiting schools to get involved in a Heritage Lottery Bid to extend the initiative, enabling children to learn about traditional crafts and skills, from bodging to basket making. The pupils will also learn why these skills have declined in prominence yet remain important.
If you have an idea which links to outdoor learning or global sustainability education and you would like OASES to be involved please get in touch.
