Following a very successful pilot last year Illuminating Waste is back in Derwentside and bigger and better than ever!  OASES is recruiting schools from across the Derwent Valley to create wonderful window displays made from waste materials to be placed within shop windows in Consett town centre and illuminated, ready for the Consett Christmas lights switch on at the beginning of December. Sponsored by the Derwent Valley AAP and various local schools and businesses.

SCHOOL CARBON REDUCTION PROGRAMME
This initiative is only available to schools that buy into Durham County Council's Energy SLA.  OASES works with these schools to reduce their Carbon emissions and their energy bills.  Since the projects inception in 2010 these schools have collectively saved over £2.6 million against business as usual predictions.
