Harehope Quarry

OASES works with the Harehope Quarry Project to deliver outdoor learning within the picturesque Weardale Valley.  At Harehope there is a range of habitats and environments, which facilitate exciting delivery and fieldwork opportunities. These include woodland, limestone grassland and wetland habitats (pond, river and wet woodland). The site is excellent for the study of Carboniferous geology and karst scenery.

Facilities include an outdoor classroom, dedicated Forest School area, (including cob oven) and coach parking. A small play area is available for use at lunchtime.

Schools visiting Harehope can choose from a range of OASES led activities available as day sessions (£250) or half day session (£150).  Den Building; Survival Skills; Orienteering; Team Building are available throughout the year.  Half day sessions can be 'mixed and matched' to make a full day.
