Fieldwork is a statutory element of the National Curriculum.  OASES can deliver all of your fieldwork requirements from river studies and map work to rocks and fossils and habitat investigations.

OASES have permission to use a range of sites across the region, providing access to forests, rivers, beaches and more. Alternatively, we can assist you to asses your local environment to find some suitable sites closer to home.

Fieldwork helps young people to make sense of the world around them through the practical application of skills and knowledge. Whether testing the water quality of a river, measuring pebble roundness on a beach or plotting a vegetation transect, fieldwork provides a lifelong memorable learning experience.

Fieldwork sessions are available to Engage Pupils; as courses, PD Days and twilights to Inspire Teachers and as Fieldwork Plus.

The OASES Fieldwork Plus model is tailored to every school's individual requirements but will normally involve:

  • Whole school CPD.
  • Subject Leader shadowing of OASES staff delivering fieldwork activities to pupils.
  • Subject Leader planning support to embed fieldwork skills into curriculum planning.
