Forest Schools - Introduction to the Ethos

This course will provide an introduction to the Forest Schools ethos.  As well as looking at the history and principles of this established pedagogy, we will explore how the approach can be used in your own school/setting's grounds and local environment. Staff will be given the opportunity to take part in a variety of traditional Forest Schools activities and see how they can be used to support curriculum delivery.  We will also discuss the evidence that has been gathered on the wider benefits of the approach (on both staff and children), including raised self esteem and learner motivation. Case studies from local schools will be supplied.  Health and safety considerations will be discussed.  Sources of further support and training will be provided.

If you would like to book this as a professional development day or series of twilights at your school please contact us on
